After drawing Wonder Woman in a dress, it’s only fitting that I draw one of Wonder Girl. (also I can’t seem to kick out the Wonder Woman/ Wonder Girl themes from my head yet! and would you want to wear this dress? I would totally wear this dress.)

This verse has been popping up everywhere for me lately and this afternoon I had a chance to really dig into it and reflect on why it’s been on my heart. It came back around to two things:
1) In Monday’s staff meeting Pastor went over our mission and vision statements in relation to this verse. One question stood out to me in particular: Who have I given up on?
2) I remember a lesson from almost two years ago that had us replace the love in that verse with our name. Erica is patient, Erica is kind. Erica does not envy… etc.
Can I really say that I’ve been doing that? Can I truly say that I haven’t given up on anyone? The sad fact of the matter is that I can’t. Immediately names come to mind. Situations where I’ve been less than loving. Instead of wallowing in that sense of shame though I am going to be more mindful about it. This verse is going to come along with me in my wallet and it’s getting pinned up to my memory verses wall. I will be praying for God to soften my heart and show me opportunities to be more compassionate. I want to look back at this a year from now, even a week from now, and actually be able to see a change of heart.
